-versary

Today is Cinco de Mayo, or Mexican Independence Day, which is somewhat of a big deal here in New York. An even bigger deal, however, is that it's the fifth day of may, at least on this blog here it is. Exactly one year ago I wrote this for the occasion. Nearly two years ago I wrote this explaining the cultivation of this blog and acknowledging the song that is it's namesake. This blog has always been like a bulletin board for me, where I tack on an assemblage of ideas and inspirations. So, in the spirit of anniversaries, I would like to let you in on a major idea that's been inhabiting my thoughts lately...

I want to go to North Africa. I've caught the travel bug again, big time. It's been two years now since I've travelled abroad (aside from a brief escapade to visit family in Israel, and that wasn't much of an adventure.) I'm conniving an adventurous, backpacking getaway to Tangiers and Marrakech, sneakily trying to rally some troops. Miss Saipua's photos of her Moroccan adventure didn't help tame the bug that's growing in me. Thoughts?! Who's coming with me?

I married Isis on the fifth day of May
But I could not hold on to her very long
So I cut off my hair and I rode straight away
For the wild unknown country where I could not go wrong.
Happy Fifth Day of May, friends!

Happy Blog-versary! And I hope you get to go to North Africa because that sounds amazing.
